I know that in a prior update Windows 11 Pro 23H2 allowed you to drag and drop a file to a folder in the path in the address bar. Has this been removed? I have two computers, a Dell desktop and an MSI laptop, and this feature stopped working somewhere along the line on both of them. I just installed the October 8 patch Tuesday update, but that didn't fix this issue on either one. Can anyone help?

    Hello Martin Walker,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Microsoft removed this feature in the 23H2 update due to the new WinUI3-based header. And there is no official information about when they will add it back.

You could try to enable it manually by a GitHub project:

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
