Hi, You would need to use a third-party application to install an older version of the Remote Desktop app, as we do not provide an official method for installing previous versions on your iOS device.

SO FRUSTRATED!!! No longer can work using Remote Desktop (Windows App)!
I’ve been a HUGE fan of the iOS Remote Desktop App since Dec 2023 when I purchased a Yubikey to use for accessing US Amy Office 365 capabilities.
Unfortunately, the current Beta version and official release version no longer works. It appears to me that the issue is related to PIN entry and verification for a Workspace.
I’m using an iPad 10, iPadOS 17.6.1 (21G93) or iPad Air 13, iPadOS 18.0.1 (22A3370), Yubikey 5C Nano, wireless keyboard, Apple Pencil, and sometimes a BT Mouse.
I’ve spent hours with Army tech support re-loading carts, wiping the Yubikey, etc. In Army Teams chats I’ve seen many others having the same problem. Luckily I saw one person had gone back to a previous build and was able to get back in. So, today I’ve spent the past hour+ testing things.
I’ve loaded previous versions and the results are the same for every version since
10.5.9 (5432) - which works perfectly. Everything since (All 3 builds of 10.6.0 and 11.0.0) have the same issue.
With 10.5.9 (5432) and before. Install the app, add workspace, select one (of 2 available) workspace, from pop-up select correct Cert, ***from next pop-up, enter PIN and the workspace etc launches.
For every build/version after this:
- Somehow a few times, if you had a successful process with build 5432, entered into a workspace virtual desktop, and then upgrade to a new version or build, you will be able to enter that same workspace without issue. When this worked, it happened for each of the 5 newer builds. But, if you try to enter the 2nd (rdweb.wvd.azure.us) workspace it won’t work and you will get the error i will describe next.
- For every build after 5432, if you try to enter a workspace that you have available but have not previously successfully entered/used. After the selecting the correct Cert, it appears to be= processing but nothing happens. When you close the App window - the pop-up appears for entering your PIN…which then does nothing because the App is closed.
- If you remove all workspaces, and install any build after 5432 the following happens: Add workspace (rdweb.wvd.azure.us), enter email, select cert (sometimes even this pop-up doesn’t show), select connect, window appears to blink, select connect again and then error AADSTS165000. You will never get the workspaces loaded/available and not be able to connect.
