Skype Conversations Not Updating Automatically in Windows 10

Hello,

I am using the latest version of Skype on a Windows 10 PC, and several colleagues and I are encountering the same issue. Skype is not updating our conversations automatically. To see new messages, we need to either close Skype and reopen it or manually sign out and sign back in. This issue disrupts our workflow since we have to constantly refresh the application to get updates.

We've already tried the following troubleshooting steps with no success:

Closing and reopening Skype

Signing out and signing back in

Ensuring we have the latest version of Skype installed

Is there any additional troubleshooting or solution that we can try to fix this issue? its worth noting that it works fine on the phone (Android).

Clear Skype Cache:

Close Skype.

Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.

Type %appdata%\Skype and press Enter.

Locate the folder that matches your Skype name and delete it.

Restart Skype and sign in again.

Check for Windows Updates:

Ensure that your Windows 10 system is fully updated. Sometimes, system updates can resolve compatibility issues.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.

I'm having the same issue, seriously disrupting workflow. internet connection is fine. step 2 doesn't work. windows 10 is up to date. reinstalling skype doesn't work. what else can i try? thanks

Thanks for your reply ,i've already tried all the steps mentioned before even posting the question but none works , what recently worked for me is to install an earlier version of skype and it worked but skype is updating automatically tried every possible steps to stop it from automatically updating but none of them worked , Is there any additional troubleshooting or solution that we can try to fix this issue?

Try running Skype in compatibility mode. Sometimes running the application as if it’s on an older version of Windows can resolve issues.

Right-click the Skype shortcut and select Properties.

Go to the Compatibility tab.

Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 8 or another previous version.

Click Apply and OK, then run Skype.

After uninstall and install de problema still the same.
The skype only update when the application is not in backgorund
