Recovering old Excel files

I recently edited an Excel file and I thought I had saved it under a new name as a new file, but for some reason I inadvertently saved the new file under the old file name as well. I didn't want to do that and so now I want to recover the original file (pre-editing). Is there an archive where I can recover it?

    There’s a chance that the workbook was saved by Excel as an “Unsaved workbook”

    Open Excel and go to

    File-> Info ->Manage Workbooks ->Recover Unsaved Workbooks

    Let me know if you need more clarification

    If you use OneDrive, SharePoint, or File History you can also try restoring previous version
