Issue Scan Fabric asset using purview

Hello,

I am currently experiencing an issue using the purview connector to scan fabric.

It seems that the connector doesn't scan datasets or any other object not linked to a report object.

For example, if i want to publish a semantic model but not the report associated, i will publish using powerbi desktop and delete the report in powerbi cloud. In this senario dataset is not scan.

Is this limitation known? How can I get around it?

The links I sent was on how to resolve the issue based on your question. About limitation, when the same issue happens to many and it's been mentioned in any document, that's a known issue. Links to show that it's a known issue:

If you can take a minute for giving me more details it could be awesome.

It's probably my fault, but I still don't see any information about datasets not scanned because not linked to a report in the pages you send me.

The only paragraph that comes close to my problem is: “Issue: Test Connection succeeded. No assets discovered. "

But that's not exactly my problem, as many assets are discovered, but some are not scanned, especially those not linked to a report.

Hi Yoan Boulinguez - Chapel - In this case, it is possible that the datasets are not being scanned because they are not being recognized as assets by Azure Purview. To ensure that all datasets are recognized as assets, you can try the following steps:

Ensure that the datasets are stored in a supported data source. Azure Purview supports a variety of data sources, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, and more. You can find a full list of supported data sources in the Azure Purview documentation.

Ensure that the datasets are registered as assets in Azure Purview. You can register datasets as assets by creating a new asset in Azure Purview and specifying the dataset as the source. You can find more information on how to register assets in the Azure Purview documentation.

Ensure that the datasets are linked to a report or dashboard in Power BI. This will ensure that the datasets are recognized as assets by Azure Purview and are scanned for sensitive data.

If you have already taken these steps and are still experiencing issues with datasets not being scanned, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance. They can help you troubleshoot the issue and ensure that all datasets are being scanned as expected.
