I am trying to run a project via Visual Studio 2022 that uses IIS Express, but am unable to get past building the project. I get hit with the following error:
When I run iisexpress.exe, it runs normally with no errors. I have tried everything I could find online such as changing the port, resetting config files, reinstalling IIS express...nothing has worked. Any ideas on what the issue is would be greatly appreciated!

What is your project type? You can create a new project and check if the error appears or not.
Please update your VS2022 to the latest version and manually delete the hidden .vs folder in your project folder.
Then, run the VS as administrator, clean and rebuild the solution.
If you have a firewall or anti-virus software, please temporarily disable them.
If it doesn’t work, you can open the Command Prompt and navigate to the IIS Express installation folder to run the following command:
iisexpress.exe /trace:error
It will show more detailed information about the error.

Project Type: ASP.NET Web Site
Visual Studio is fully up to date. I tried deleting the .vs folder and rebuilding, this did not fix the original issue. When I ran iisexpress.exe /trace:error from the command line, no errors appeared.

No, in a new project IIS Express runs without any issues
Hello, please try to manually delete the auto-generated IISExpress folder:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\IISExpress
Then, re-launch the VS and rebuild the solution.
That did not solve the issue.
