Authenticator is asking for a passcode when in the app rather than providing me with one so I can access work emails from home

I am trying to access my work emails from home which I previously had been able to. I lost my phone and got a new handset but since backing up the Authenticator app doesn’t work as it did. When I try to access my work emails through outlook, it pops up the Authenticator app but asks for a code rather than providing one? I am unable to get past this to generate anything as I am already in the app? Any help please as it’s driving me crazy!
