Hi All,

Couple of users complains File Explorer hangs and not responsive when they are working offline.

During the investigation we found that the explorer is trying to connect to the share drives while offline and gone to a loop and ending up explorer to hangs and die.

Found the article blow and tried the reg hack but the workaround has not fully fixed the issue for the user. Has anyone seen this issue and able to resolve.

    Hello,

Ensure that Offline Files is properly configured on the user’s computer. This can be done through the Sync Center in the Control Panel. Make sure that the folders that are intended to be available offline are fully synced and that there are no errors in the synchronization.

Disable offline files to confirm if the problem stops. If disabling Offline Files resolves the issue, you might need to investigate the configuration of Offline Files further or consider whether Offline Files is necessary for your environment.

Check the settings of the mapped network drives. Sometimes, there are scripts or policies that automatically try to reconnect drives. You can try to remap the drives with the option “Reconnect at sign-in” disabled to see if that reduces the attempts to connect when working offline.

Verify that the user’s computer is fully updated. Some issues are resolved with patches and updates from Microsoft, so it’s essential to ensure that all updates have been applied.

Check whether the antivirus software or firewall is potentially interfering with the network drives or Offline Files operation.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
