Problems to delete temporary files

I'm having trouble deleting temporary files in Windows 11. I go to settings > system > storage. Temporary files show 1.20 GB. I check all options and select delete. However, temporary files still show 1.20 GB.

I then try manually: Win+R (run) %temp% - deletes all files with the command ctrl+a. Next is: Win+R (run) temp - deletes all files with the command ctrl+a. " Win+R (run) - prefetch " "

Next: File Explorer, drive C: - Windows - SoftwareDistribution - deletes all files with the command ctrl+a

When I go back to settings > system > storage > temporary files, the folder shows 1.05 GB, a reduction of only 0.15 GB. Why doesn't the size of this folder decrease after all the commands I've run? Are there any other options I can use? This problem has occurred in the last 24 hours, and it's something I usually do every day. Previously, the size of temporary files has been around 150 MB.

What could be wrong here?

Best regards, Trond"

    Hello Trond Gunnar Raa

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

    1.Use Disk Cleanup:

    • Open the Start Menu, search for "Disk Cleanup," and launch it.

    • Select the temporary files you'd like to delete and hit OK. Confirm by clicking Delete Files

    2. Use Safe Mode:

Sometimes, deleting files in Safe Mode can help. Restart your computer in Safe Mode and try deleting the temporary files again.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
