How to see documents icon in a document

I cannot see document icon in the traditional blue colour rather the icon is being shown as the contents in the document . Kindly help with the old method I am finding it hard to differentiate between documents and a notepad.

    File Explorer > View > Options > View Tab > Look for "Always show icons, never thumbnails" > Enable it > Apply > OK

    Hi Saubhagya Bansal,

    Thanks for your post. In Windows 10&11, there is no Document/This PC icon in the default layout. This is by design. I would suggest you to provide your feedback using Windows 10 feedback app.You can open the Edge, press Shift+Alt+I to feedback the uservoice to the develop team. Thanks a lot for your understanding.

    You can pin the available icon in the desktop with the following steps:> Press Win key + R. > Copy-paste and enter: explorer shell:AppsFolder > Right-click the app that you want to create a shortcut. > Click Create Shortcut.
