Unable to sign in to Authenticator - endless loop

When I try to sign into my Team account, I receive the message that I need to enter a code in my Authenticator app.

When I go to Authenticator app on my mobile device to enter the code, I am prompted to first sign in. When I try to sign in there, I receive message "Enter Code displayed in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device."

I have removed and reinstalled Authenticator.

I am unable to change any settings in my account to turn off MFA because .... I can't sign in.

How can I sign into my account??

I work as an independent consultant so I don't have an IT department to go to - I am the IT department.

    If you reinstalled Authenticator (or upgraded device) you will not be able to use that Authenticator for MFA until it has been authorized either via the QR code or another supported MFA. If you have not setup alternative MFA methods try
