What us meant by "SharePoint Online indexer isn't supported when Microsoft ENTRA ID Conditional Access is enabled."? Conditional Access isn't a simple enabled/disabled setting. Given that Conditional Access should be enabled as best practice on any serious enterprise tenant, what explicitly is meant by "disabled" in this context?

Nick Brown, Based on the doc reference and from my understanding of your ask.

From the doc - "SharePoint Online indexer isn't supported when Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access is enabled."User's image

'Conditional Access isn't a simple enabled/disabled setting' - this statement is not specifically outlined in the the doc that you referenced.

As per the documentation, you need check if your tenant has conditional policies to restrict devices. If this is the case, the indexer is not supported:

If your Microsoft Entra organization has conditional access enabled and your administrator isn't able to grant any device access for delegated permissions, you should consider app-based permissions instead. For more information, see Microsoft Entra Conditional Access policies.
