Need a walkthrough on how to recover or bypass the BitLocker error. I am upset because I recently purchase my laptop and an update caused the inability to use it and it corrupted the boot files. I am not very computer savvy. My son tried to fix it and he is a lot more skilled and had no luck. He suggested I send this message.

     Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum.

Confirm your current problem: A BitLocker error is displayed when Windows 11 is updated. Have you configured the BitLocker recovery password before?

Use the system file check tool (SFC) to repair system files.

    1. Run the command prompt (administrator), enter the following command and press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

    1. Wait for the scan to complete and restart the computer.

You can try turning off BitLocker and then retesting the Windows update:

    1. Open Control Panel and choose System and Security. 2.
    2. Click "BitLocker Drive Encryption".
    3. Next to the drive where BitLocker is set, click "Pause Protection".

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards
