The organization administrator is no longer reachable, and now Authenticator can't delete the work account.

At present, it is possible to log in to the work account, and it is useless to delete the login method in the account security information (it will reappear after a second or two after deletion)User's image

And there are no devices in the deviceUser's image

What should I do to remove the account in Authenticator?User's image

    Hi Rick,

I've come across this issue before. Here’s what you can try to remove the account from the Microsoft Authenticator app, especially since the admin isn't reachable.

Remove Directly from the Authenticator App:

    • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    • Find the account you’re trying to delete, tap the three dots (or options menu) next to it, and select Remove Account.
    • If that option isn’t available, try logging out of the app entirely by going into settings.

    Clear App Data:

    • Go to your phone’s Settings > Apps > Microsoft Authenticator.
    • Clear the cache and data. This usually wipes out all saved accounts in the app and logs you out completely.

Try Removing It from the Account’s Security Settings on Another Device:

    • Log into your work account on a different device, go to Security Information in your account settings, and see if you can remove the Authenticator app as a method.
    • If it keeps reappearing, you could try setting up a new verification method temporarily to override it.

    Reinstall the App:

    • Uninstall the Microsoft Authenticator app, restart your phone, then reinstall it from the app store.
    • This often helps reset any stuck configurations, and don’t add the work account back unless you really need it.

    Reach Out to Microsoft Support:

    • If it still won’t go away, you might need to contact Microsoft Support. They can sometimes help disable the account if you explain the admin is out of reach.

Give these steps a shot, and hopefully, one of them works! Let me know if you get it sorted or need more ideas.
