new hardware before upgrading to 11

Question

I need to upgrade my MB and CPU on my computer prior to installing Windows 11. Will I still be able to transfer my license from 10 or do I need to buy a new one?

Hello,If the license is an OEM license, it is tied to the computer's hardware. You can't use this license to activate the system again after you replace the hardware.

If it is a retail license, follow this link to reactivate Win10 after replacing the hardware:

After that, if your system meets the requirements for upgrading to Win11 and is currently running a genuine Win10 system, you can upgrade to Win11 in-place without purchasing a new license.
