Since updating to latest Win11, Media Server keeps resetting from Automatic to Automatic (delayed) on startup

Since Windows updated last week, Windows Media Server (which I had to reinstall) resets to Automatic (delayed) every time I restart the machine, & streaming doesn't work at all. I had to reinstall Windows Media Server, so I'd guess I have the latest version, & I've followed all the helpful instructions I could find here on the MS forums & elsewhere for accessing Media streaming options etc.

Also notice my TVs etc that receive streaming are listed under "other networks" rather than "local network."

Seriously, I've tried virtually every fix I can find online. Nothing takes. My other devices don't recognize my computer. I'm trying to set Media Player on Apps>Startup but there seems no way to access it except to turn the apps already there on & off.

This is driving me nuts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly try below steps:

1.Open services manager and ensure that the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is set to Automatic (Delayed Start).

2.Navigate to registry editor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WMPNetworkSvc. Set DelayedAutostart value as 0 and restart computer to apply the change.

3.Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset and click on Reset now and see if issue persists.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou

As with all else I've tried, following that procedure the HKEY value lists as 0 for one go, the media server still doesn't start, & on reboot the HKEY value reverts to 1.

If it matters, I find that when I go to media streaming options most of my devices are listed on "All Networks" not "Local Network." Is that supposed to be the case?
