How to fix a grayed out code on Microsoft Authentication App

I am having access issues logging into my mail account. I have two ms Authentication app on two phones and reset one to factory settings. I tried to use the other phone to get the code to my email but the code is grayed out. How can I access or restore my 2FA Authentication code
