Outlook Calendar Notifications reset to none daily

Hi

My Outlook client resets its Calendar Event Reminders to None.

At every Outlook start up my routine involves:

Settings>>General>>Notifications>>Calendar>>Event Reminders>>change from None to Reminder>>Save.

All other settings are in default and not adjusted.

The issue has persisted since changing to the "New Outlook" client 5 or so months ago.

Tried but did not resolved the issue:

a) Clearing of cache - %localappdata% RoamCache - delete all files

b) Suggestion to change various other settings at the same time and save, instead of just the Calendar Reminders. The result was Mail & Calendar Notifications reset to none when Outlook was restarted and settings outside of the Notifications remained as set when Outlook was restarted. The issue seem to be isolated to Reminder Notification Style settings.

Outlook information:

Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1023.300 (Production).

Client Version is 20241018004.20.

WebView2 Version is 130.0.2849.56

Your help will be much appreciated.

Andre

    Hi @AndreL

    Welcome to our forum!

Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Update Outlook: Ensure that your Outlook client is up to date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer versions.
    2. Reset Reminders: Try running the command Outlook.exe /cleanreminders to reset the reminders. This can sometimes resolve issues with reminder settings.
    3. Registry Edit:
      • Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.
      • Open Regedit and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\<version>\Outlook\Options\Reminders.
      • Ensure the values for reminders are set correctly. You might need to add or modify the DefaultReminder key. More information: Reminders in Outlook do not appear - Outlook | Microsoft Learn User's image
    4. Create a New Outlook Profile: Sometimes, issues can be related to a corrupted profile. You can create a new profile and re-add your account to see if the problem persists. Go to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Add. Create a new profile and set it as the default.
    5. Reinstall Outlook: As a last resort, you can try reinstalling Outlook. This can help if there are any corrupted files causing the issue.

    Hope it helps!
