In early September we received a notification with the title matching the title of this thread indicating that Remote Desktop clients used to connect to AVD will be transitioning to Windows App.

Will the MSI version of the Remote Desktop app be deprecated at some point, if so when?

    Hello @AK

The Windows App will eventually replace the existing MSRDC app but an official deprecation timeline hasn't yet been announced. The new Windows App supports below features - customers should look at adopting the new Windows App as this will be the preferred client experience.

There are many features to enhance your remote experience with the new windows app such as:

    • Multiple monitor support.
    • Custom display resolutions.
    • Dynamic display resolutions and scaling.
    • Device redirection, such as webcams, audio, storage devices, and printers.
    • Microsoft Teams optimizations.
    • Sign in with multiple accounts and easily switch between them.

If I have answered your question, please accept this as answer as a token of appreciation.
