SSD NVMe PCie M.2 unreadable and seen with lower capacity after Win11 freeze.

Hi, I would like some help if possible. A few days ago, following a freeze on my PC with Windows 11 installed (BTW after the last windows update!), I was no longer able to start my computer because at startup it told me that there was a damaged startup file (now I don't remember exactly which one).

Using a USB Case for SSD on another PC and using a partition software utility, I realized that my system hard disk, a Sabrent Rocket / NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD 512 MB, was unreadable. Also, it was no longer seen with that capacity but with only 2 MB. I also tried to perform several operations like partition it, file recovery, format etc.  without any success. My question is the following: do you have any idea what could have happened? How can a nearly new HD (1-year-old) end up like this? Is there any way to recover it, or at least recover something inside?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve this problem.

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

It sounds like a hardware issue:

Use the SSD manufacturer's diagnostic tools to check the health of the drive. These tools can often detect and sometimes fix issues with the SSD.

If the SSD is still unreadable, you might try using third-party data recovery software to recover data from damaged drives.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
