Since this issue cannot be reproduced by policy, it may be due to a performance issue in the web version.
So, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot:
- Open Outlook Web with a private or incognito window.
- Browser extensions or add-ons can sometimes interfere with web applications. Try disabling or temporarily removing any browser extensions, and see if Outlook search starts working.
- Do other users have the same problem?
- Create a new profile.
- Occasionally, Outlook Web may have temporary service issues that may be resolved on its own in the future.
