Im having a issue with some of my usbs ports potentially. I built a gaming pc 2 years ago. Nothing is wrong with it. I decided to back up my iphone and noticed it charges the phone but doesn't show in file explorer. So i decided to try all the rest of the ports on the front and back and i can only get a couple to allow my iphone to show up in file explorer and transfer data. Phone will always show up under device manager regardless of what port its plugged into. If i use a USB flash drive all the ports will work. I have the original apple cable as well. Ive updated drivers, bio update, uninstalled drivers, reformatted. Nothing seems to work. While i still can backup my phone using the usbs that work. Why do some ports allow me to access and transer data with my iphone and some dont, but a flash drive works on every port.

    Hello

Here are a few additional things you can try to resolve the issue with your iPhone not showing up in File Explorer on certain USB ports:

Check USB Port Power: Some USB ports might not provide enough power for data transfer, even if they can charge your device. Try using ports directly connected to the motherboard (usually at the back of the PC) as they tend to be more reliable for data transfer.

Update Apple Mobile Device USB Driver:

Connect your iPhone to your PC.

Open Device Manager (you can right-click the Start button and select it).

Find Universal Serial Bus controllers and look for Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

Right-click it and select Update driver.

Reinstall Apple Mobile Device USB Driver:

    Disconnect your iPhone.

Open Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Right-click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver and select Uninstall device.

Reconnect your iPhone and it should reinstall the driver automatically.

Use an Official Apple Cable: Ensure you are using an original Apple cable or an MFi-certified cable. Non-certified cables can sometimes cause connectivity issues.

Trust This Computer: When you connect your iPhone, make sure to tap Trust on the iPhone screen and enter your passcode if prompted.

Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.

Try a Different Computer: If possible, try connecting your iPhone to a different computer to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with your PC or the iPhone itself.

    Disable USB Selective Suspend Setting:

Go to Control Panel > Power Options.

Click on Change plan settings next to your current power plan.

Click on Change advanced power settings.

Expand USB settings > USB selective suspend setting and disable it.

If none of these steps work, it might be worth consulting with Apple Support or a professional technician to further diagnose the issue. Let me know if you need any more help!
