How can I add a column in Teams that shows the last opened date for a file?

We use Teams in our school for our class planners. The planner document has hundreds of hyperlinks to documents/pdfs/movies of resource content in the Files section of Teams.

We are wanting to be able to show when a file was last opened to see if it's a relevant document linked to the latest planner. (Teachers change each year and planners are updated, so lots of files become redundant)

There is no default column so I'm hoping to add a column and insert a date formula so we can tell when a file was last viewed/opened. Is this possible?

    Hi @Dawn Anglicas

Microsoft Teams doesn’t have a built-in feature to show when a file was last opened directly in the Files section.

To get this feature more quickly, you can send a feedback directly to Microsoft Feedback to add it in future updates.

Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future.

As a workaround, you can edit the file every time you open it, so you can sort the files by Modified (edited time).
