Font Changes Issue in Outlook 2019 Emails (HTML Format)

Dear Microsoft Support,

I am experiencing an issue in Outlook 2019 where the fonts in my emails change unexpectedly after being sent.

I have configured my font settings under File > Options > Mail > Signatures and Stationery and selected the fonts for both "New Mail Messages" and "Replies or Forwards." I always verify the fonts before sending emails, ensuring they are set to Calibri and Microsoft JhengHei. However, after sending, the fonts often change to Times New Roman and PMingLiU, both in the Sent Items folder and in test emails I send to myself.

This issue occurs sporadically, not every time, and only when using HTML format, which I am required to use for work. Switching to plain text is not an option, and due to company policies, reinstalling Outlook is not feasible.

Could you please provide other potential solutions to fix this issue? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Kevin Wu

    Hi @Kevin

    Welcome to our forum!

It sounds frustrating to have your fonts change unexpectedly in Outlook 2019. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check if the problem message is also occurring on the browser client to narrow down the problem.

Repair Office: If the issue continues, you might need to repair your Office installation. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and click Change. Choose Quick Repair first, and if that doesn't work, try Online Repair.

Disable Add-ins: Sometimes, add-ins can interfere with font settings. Try disabling any add-ins you have installed by going to File > Options > Add-ins. Select COM Add-ins and click Go. Uncheck all add-ins and restart Outlook to see if the issue persists.
