Email same, new server settings with IMAP protocols, can not add email account to Outlook keeps change to POP accou

Question

I have Spectrum Internet, and my email is has been update in there system, which is a IMAP system with new server settings. Spectrum IT support assisted me setting my new server settings and deleting my email account in outlook and then we used my new password with new server settings with IMAP protocols. Outlook keeps keeps changing settings back to a POP account and reverses the setting and will not accept them under a IMAP account. My email has not changed and just new server settings. I found out, I could not send out emails through outlook since February of this year. I receive emails and not sent out emails. Need assistance. Spectrum IT support referred me to Microsoft. A Microsoft Support Specialist ask to me to reach out to Senior Engineer. Outlook keeps changing account back to pop account. Outlook will not stay to IMAP account with new server settings. I have deleted account on Outlook and manually added email account, will not find IMAP server with new settings.

Do you mean that you have a Spectrum account and want to configure it as IMAP in Outlook desktop client?

If so, i notice that the issue is more related to the Spectrum Email account, please kindly understand that the Outlook tag here we mainly focus on general issues about Outlook desktop client and know little about Spectrum email account.

Based on my research, i found an article which introduces how to add Spectrum Email account as POP/IMAP to Outlook. Considering there're some recent changes about your Spectrum Email account, just like "which is a IMAP system with new server settings", it is suggested that you could try to create a new profile(Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>add) firstly and then refer to this article to add your Spectrum Email account as IMAP to Outlook client: A Guide to Spectrum Email Settings for Outlook: Seamless Integration Made Simple.
