Cannot deploy Maui .NET 9 demo app to iOS simulator

Getting 12 errors when deploying Maui .NET 9 demo app to iOS simulator. Any ideas what the issue is?

Hello,

I reproduced this issue using .net 9.0.

According to the test, this is a Nuget Package reference issue. You need to update all updatable Packages to the latest version in Nuget Package Manager to solve this issue.

There was nothing to update in NuGet including pre-release. So, that does not correct the issue.

Have you updated XCode on your Mac to version 16?

According to What's new in .NET MAUI for .NET 9 and this known issue The build fails with "No simulator runtime version from ...", you need to update it to solve this problem.

Compatibility with Xcode 16, which includes SDK support for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, and macOS 15, is required when building with .NET MAUI 9. Xcode 16 requires a Mac running macOS 14.5 or later. If the build fails with an error like this:

No simulator runtime version from [<DVTBuildVersion 21C62>, <DVTBuildVersion 21E213>, <DVTBuildVersion 21F79>] available to use with iphonesimulator SDK version <DVTBuildVersion 22A3362>

or:

The operation couldn't be completed. Failed to locate any simulator runtime matching options: { ... }

Then the problem is that the necessary iOS platform support isn't installed on the macOS machine.

The fix is to open Xcode, go to the menu "Xcode (top left) -> Settings -> Components", and make sure the platform component for the latest iOS version is installed (iOS 18 in this case, in Xcode 16.0):
