    Hello,

To determine if your external camera on your monitor motherboard is eligible for Windows Hello certification and to set it up, here are the steps you can follow:

    Eligibility for Windows Hello Certification

To be eligible for Windows Hello certification, your external camera must meet certain requirements. It should support infrared (IR) imaging and have the necessary drivers to work with Windows Hello. You can check the compatibility of your camera by visiting the manufacturer's website or the Windows Hello compatibility list.

How to Apply for Windows Hello Certification

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): Ensure that your organization has a PKI in place. Windows Hello for Business depends on an enterprise PKI running the Windows Server Active Directory Certificate Services role.

Configure and Validate PKI: Configure and validate the PKI to ensure it meets the requirements for Windows Hello for Business.

Deploy Certification Authority: If you don't have an existing PKI, you will need to deploy an enterprise certification authority.

Enroll in Windows Hello for Business: Follow the steps to configure and enroll in Windows Hello for Business, which includes setting up the necessary policies and configurations.

Setting Up Windows Hello with an External Camera

Enable ESS Enhanced Sign-In Security: You need to enable ESS Enhanced Sign-In Security in your BIOS/UEFI. This will allow you to use an external camera for Windows Hello.

    Select the External Camera:

Open Settings: Click on the Start button, then click on the Settings (gear icon) to open the Settings app.

Go to Accounts: In the Settings app, click on “Accounts.”

Navigate to Sign-in Options: In the left sidebar, select “Sign-in options.”

Windows Hello Face: Scroll down until you find the “Windows Hello Face” section. Click on “Set up” or “Manage” under Windows Hello Face.

Choose Camera: You should see an option to choose which camera to use for Windows Hello. If your external monitor camera is detected, it should appear in the dropdown list. Select the monitor camera from the list.

Set Up Windows Hello: Follow the prompts to set up Windows Hello using the selected camera. This may involve scanning your face and setting up a PIN for backup authentication.

Test Windows Hello: Once set up, you can test Windows Hello by locking your computer and then unlocking it using facial recognition.
