How to fix audio on my Dell PC

Every now and then my audio drivers get messed up and I cannot access microphone or speakers during a zoom call or net meeting call etc.

Hi Jana,

Thanks for your post. Generally speaking, if you do not see any audio driver installed under Sound, video and game controllers, go to your device manufacturer's website and search for audio drivers for your system model. Download them and install them like any other software. Once they are installed properly, they are appearing under Sound, video and game controllers in Device Manager.

Dell Technologies recommends updating the device drivers and BIOS as part of your scheduled update cycle. Device drivers and BIOS updates may contain feature enhancements or changes that help keep your system software current and compatible with other computer modules (hardware and software) as well as increased stability.

It is essential to update the following device drivers for optimal audio or sound playback performance and to resolve common audio or sound playback-related issues:

• BIOS
• Chipset
• Audio driver

Download and install the latest Dell drivers from the Dell.com/support/drivers website.
