This issue should be a minority but I hope somebody can help me fix it.

The issue is

When I open the Outlook (new) App, (previously known as Mail, now when Mall app is opened, it will automatically redirect to Outlook (new). See below screenshot

Screenshot 1

When it comes to the login page, the credentials are already there, furthermore, the dropdown menu shows all of the previous login credentials. see below screenshot

Screenshot 2

And the “suggested accounts” says “we’ve listed accounts currently active in your Microsoft software, including Outlook. see below screenshot

Screenshot 3

My biggest concern is, when clicking the “continue” button, the page will lead to my outlook mail without asking for any password.

The current PC situation:

1.     Login into local account, and is an admin account

2.     Previously signed in with Microsoft accounts instead of the local accounts, but now it is already signed out

3.     Previously opened Excel, Word, PPT Apps with these Microsoft accounts, but now they are already signed out as well

4.     I went to Microsoft website and login into my accounts, and under ”security” tab, I confirmed that I unlinked the accounts with this PC, also under “manage my device” tab I also confirmed that they are not associated

5.     I actually uninstalled the “Outlook (new)” App on this PC, and when re-install it again, the credentials still show at the login page.

Is there a specific way to clear all of this credentials?

Thanks a lot

    Hi @Willwybg-8278

    Welcome to our forum!

Here are some steps you can try to clear these credentials:

    1. Clear Credentials from Credential Manager:
      • In Windows search bar, open Credential Manager.
      • Under Windows Credentials and Generic Credentials, delete any credentials related to Outlook, Office, or Microsoft accounts.User's image
    2. Reset Outlook Profile:
      • Close the new Outlook app.
      • Win +R and type or paste the following command: olk.exe --clearLocalState and then press Enter.
      • This will delete your profile, and you'll need to add your account again when you open Outlook (New).
      • More information: Reset the New Outlook Profile (Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find additional information about this topic. 3. Check for Cached Credentials in the Registry:
      • Win +R and type regedit to Open the Registry Editor.
      • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity\Identities.
      • Delete any entries related to the accounts you want to remove.
      • (Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before making changes, back up the registry to restore it in case something goes wrong.)
    4. Clear Browser Cache:
      • Sometimes, cached credentials in your browser can affect app logins.
      • Clear the cache and cookies in your web browser.

    Hope it helps!
