Hello,

I have a work email which is connected to Microsoft Entra ID. I login with it in Azure Portal, my Microsoft account, etc. This work email was linked to my Windows 11 local profile and I set up a PIN and Fingerprint to login. However, something strange happened and one day couldn't login into that profile anymore, instead when I tried my pin and Fingerprint it said that my credentials could not be verified. Somehow I managed to login but not to my main admin profile linked to the Microsoft Entra ID email but to some brand new non admin profile. And now I am stuck in a, I don't know how to call it, a temporary account from which I cannot do anything.

I honestly am lost here and tried so many things that didn't work, so I am asking the community for help to solve this mind boggling problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hi @Dimitar , have you tried resetting your PIN and Fingerprint? You can do this by going to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and selecting "Windows Hello PIN" or "Fingerprint" and then selecting "Remove". After removing your PIN or Fingerprint, you can set them up again and see if that resolves the issue.

If that doesn't work, you can try resetting your Microsoft Entra ID password. To do this, go to the Microsoft Entra portal and select "Can't access your account?" on the sign-in page. Follow the prompts to reset your password and then try logging in to your Windows profile again.

If this doesn't work, boot your computer into Safe Mode and try logging in with your PIN or fingerprint. Safe Mode can sometimes bypass issues caused by third-party software.

If you have access to another admin account, you can try rejoining your device to Microsoft Entra ID:

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    • Select your work account and click Disconnect.
    • Restart your computer and then re-add your work account.

If you're still having issues please let me know and we can open a support ticket.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I can help you further.
