I am trying to log back into my student account that requires a code from the Microsoft Authenticator app. My account and passwords were reset after a scam from an outside source. Since last night, I have been stuck on the "Use verification code" portion of the log in, and the authenticator app is not displaying any codes. The app and my phone are currently up to date, and I have no other solution to this matter.

It sounds like a frustrating situation. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue with the Microsoft Authenticator app:

    1. Check Notifications: Ensure that notifications for the Authenticator app are enabled on your phone. Sometimes, the app might not show the approval prompt if notifications are disabled.
    2. Sync Time: Make sure your phone's date and time settings are set to automatic. Incorrect time settings can cause issues with code generation.
    3. Re-add Account: If possible, try removing and re-adding your account in the Authenticator app. This can sometimes resolve issues with code generation.
    4. Use Backup Codes: If you have backup codes provided by your institution, use them to log in.
    5. Contact Support: Reach out to your institution's IT support team for assistance. They may be able to reset your authentication settings or provide alternative methods for logging in.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you can also refer to the Microsoft Support page for more troubleshooting tips.
