Moving users from on-prem to Entra ID sync issues

We have an on prem AD and an Entra ID. Previously I could move a user into an unsynced OU, run a delta sync, restore the user in O365 and make changes to their username and email address, add a manager, etc. with no issues. Something changed overnight apparently. Now when I restore the user in O365 it says "This user is synchronized with your local Active Directory" Though in Entra ID it says "No" under the On-Prem Sync column. Not sure what changed. Everything seems to be correct in Azure AD Connect. The on-prem OU is definitely not synced. Thanks!

    Hi @Craig Olewiler

When you restore a synced user from Entra or office portal , Entra connect will not able to sync it again and see it as a cloud only account. To restore the sync of synced account you should delete it again using Entra or office portal and move the user account in AD to synced OU.

All synced objects should be modified from on-prem Active directory through EntraConnect server.
