Understanding Gmail and Microsoft Account Connection

I created a new Microsoft account using my Gmail address. Does this mean my Gmail and Microsoft accounts are now linked, or is my Gmail address simply an alias for my new Microsoft account? Will I start receiving my Gmail emails in my Microsoft account?

I came across this online but this is not clear to me

    Hi @Rajat Mehta

When you create a Microsoft account using your Gmail address, your Gmail address acts as an alias for your Microsoft account. This means you can use your Gmail address to sign in to your Microsoft account, but your Gmail and Microsoft accounts are not fully linked.

You will not start receiving your Gmail emails in your Microsoft account automatically. To access your Gmail emails through Microsoft services like Outlook, you would need to add your Gmail account separately within the Outlook app or web interface.
