How to Resolve Azure AD Authentication Error (500121)?

I'm encountering an issue with Azure AD authentication and need assistance resolving it. Below are the details of the error:

Error Code: 500121

Request Id: 65a0a6cf-aa79-4096-800e-bbe99c1b7800

Correlation Id: e2ff1368-41aa-4edb-8716-a3ff3deabb2b

Timestamp: 2024-11-27T11:51:38Z

This error occurs when users try to sign in to a particular application using Azure AD. It seems to be related to conditional access or multi-factor authentication (MFA) policies, but I'm unsure of the exact cause.

I have checked the sign-in logs and found this error code frequently, but I'm not able to pinpoint the issue. Could someone guide me on how to troubleshoot this further or share possible solutions for this error?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Moazzem,

Error Code: 500121 indicates Authentication failed during strong authentication request. The user didn't complete the MFA prompt or they may have decided not to authenticate or timed out while doing other work, or has an issue with their authentication setup.

Check if the account MFA is blocked.

Entra ID > Security > Multifactor authentication > Block/unblock users.

    Cheers
