Microsoft Azure log in problem with GitHub student id

I have registered for the GitHub Student Developer Pack using my college email ID. However, when trying to sign in, I receive the following error: "Your email domain is not currently registered with us. You can choose another verification method." Unfortunately, the alternative verification method is also not working. I have an active developer pack, but I am unable to log in.
