SQL Server Extension Service

I don't suppose anyone knows what the "Microsoft SQL Server Extension Service" does? I noticed this morning that it is using all of the available memory on one of our SQL servers. Even after restarting the service the memory usage rapidly increases back up to this level.

    if it's consuming all available memory, it could be due to several factors, such as heavy queries o operations running on the server, l leTading to high memory usage

    you can check the queries or workloads being executed, review SQL Server logs for any related errors, and ensure that memory settings are correctly configured.
