my computer is showing i have no internet access, yet im able to browse the internet just fine on it, it wont let me download any windows updates, whats going on with my pc?

i recent had to do a fresh install on my windows 11 computer because i had lost audio output, but now its telling me my wifi has no internet access. its confusing because i can access steam and other browsers without issue but it cant download any updates or access my windows defender.

Here are some steps you can follow:

1. Reset Network:

• Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.

• Click on Reset now. This will reset all network adapters and settings to their default values.

2. Check DNS Settings:

• Open Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.

• Select your network and click on Properties.

• Ensure that the IP settings are set to Automatic (DHCP) and the DNS settings are also set to Automatic.

3. Flush DNS and Reset Network Settings:

• Open Command Prompt as an administrator.

• Run the following commands one by one:

pconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip reset

netsh winsock reset

• Restart your computer after running these commands[.

4. Update Network Drivers:

• Open Device Manager.

• Expand Network adapters, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver.

• Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

5. Check Firewall Settings:

• Ensure that your firewall is not blocking Windows Update or Windows Defender.

• Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Firewall & network protection.

• Click on Allow an app through firewall and make sure that Windows Update and Windows Defender are allowed.
