Hello,

i'm currently migrating an Azure CDN (classic) instance to Azure Front Door Standard for a customer.

The new AFD profile status is currently set on "migrating"

If i try to navigate to one of the <random_id>.azurefd.net endpoints i receive the following error:

Is there a way to test the afd endpoints before the effective migration?

Thank you,

Fabio

    Hi @Fabio Cannas

    Greetings!

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

NOTE: Remember that while the "migrating" state is in effect, certain functionalities may be limited, and it’s best to wait until the migration is complete for full testing.

    Migrate

Once migration begins, the Azure Front Door (classic) profile gets disabled and the Azure Front Door Standard, or Premium profile gets activated. Traffic starts flowing through the new profile once the migration completes.

If you decided you no longer want to move forward with the migration process, you can select Abort migration. Aborting the migration deletes the new Front Door profile that was created. The Azure Front Door (classic) profile remains active, and you can continue to use it. Any WAF policy copies need to be manually deleted.

Service charges for Azure Front Door Standard or Premium tier start once migration is completed.

    Hope this clarifies!
