Authenticator Issue

Question

Stuck in perpetual loop, with 2 step verification. States get code from Authenticator app, nothing appears on app. The email account shows as there but nothing happens when I go to the app to receive the code??? I can’t go into my security settings on my account to amend my 2 step verification options as it wants to verify myself first through the Authenticator app, but code appears loop loop loop!! I changed my phone around 2 yrs ago but can’t remember if I set the app up on this or that phone? Can someone please help.

Can you recover or reset your 2-step verification settings without access to the Authenticator app, such as using backup codes moto x3m or contacting customer support?
