Hello,

Please i need your help on this issue

Here is the summary of what we want to achieve:

We are facing an issue with customizing columns in SharePoint.

We created a subfolder named "Project" and "Project Images" within your SharePoint library.

In this subfolder, we added a custom column called "Marina Test" with specific choices.

However, this column is also appearing in the parent folder and throughout the entire library, which is not what we intended.

So therefore our goal is to have the "Marina Test" column visible only in the specific subfolder and not in the parent folder or other parts of the library.

Additionally, We want the flexibility to create different custom columns in other subfolders as needed.

This customization should be accessible to all users with the current permissions.

    Hi @IniobongNkanga-8038,

In this subfolder, we added a custom column called "Marina Test" with specific choices. However, this column is also appearing in the parent folder and throughout the entire library, which is not what we intended.

This is an expected behavior in SharePoint. Created columns will appear in all levels of a document library. I'm afraid it is impossible to make columns visible only in the specific subfolder and not in the other levels of the library.

Personally, I completely agree with you, this is indeed a good addition to the current features of SharePoint. Thank you for bringing things to our attention. We sincerely recommend you go to SharePoint Feedback community to provide your feedback: SharePoint · Community (microsoft.com). This is the best platform to let related team hear from you and make the products and services better for you and others.

    Thanks.
