What causes the Mailbox not found, please contact your system admin message when in Canvas you sync Microsoft Teams meetings, then in Teams activate the class and then go back to Canvas MS Teams meetings and try to schedule a channel meeting?

We are starting to use Microsoft Teams meetings in our Canvas courses. But get the error message "Mailbox not found, please contact your system admin" when trying to schedule a channel meeting. This happens when we use the following steps.

  • In a Canvas course, we turn on the Microsoft Sync state and click on the Sync now button.
  • Then in Teams, activate the Class
  • Then, back in the Canvas course, you access the Microsoft Teams meetings link (sign in if necessary) and try to schedule a channel meeting.

Note: If the user disregards that meeting, they can create a regular meeting where you instead use the option Add entire class.

Also, after a long period of time, you can eventually create a Channel meeting. Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what causes this.
