Unable to verify phone for Azure signup - Indonesia

I am unable to verify my Indonesian phone number for Azure sign up. This issue has been previously discussed, including https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/925914/why-am-i-seeing-an-error-with-a-valid-phone-number?page=1#answers. "Please do not enter country code in your phone number." was the error message.

Neither workaround shared in the link above worked for me. I tried workaround 1 to no avail, while workaround 2 wasn't even tried because I couldn't enter any non-numeric characters or delete parentheses.

Other Indonesians faced the same issue and commented on the link above.
