How to move an Azure application created under a personal account to a directory?

I have an application in Azure that's listed under 'App registrations' -> 'Applications from personal account' that I would like to move to a directory
i am getting this message in my portal:
These applications are associated with the account xxxxxxxxx but are not contained within any directory. They are shown here so you can manage them, but will not be available to other users or admins in this directory. The ability to create applications outside of a directory has been deprecated.
I would like to move this application to an Azure AD directory. I do not want to create a new app registration; I want to transfer my existing personal account app to a directory. Is that possible? If so, how can I achieve this?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi @Kushal Thakkar •

Thank you for sharing your issue on Microsoft Q&A.

I understand that you want to transfer an Azure application currently registered under a personal Microsoft account to an Azure AD directory. The user encounters a message stating that these applications are not associated with any directory and cannot be shared with other users or admins in the directory. Additionally, you're facing a limitation where the ability to create applications outside of a directory has been deprecated, and you want to transfer the existing app from your personal account to a directory without having to create a new app registration.

Currently, it is not possible to directly move or transfer an application registered under a personal Microsoft account to an Azure AD directory. Instead, you would need to recreate the Azure AD app registration in the new Azure AD tenant and manually configure all roles and permissions for the new registration.

To migrate the registration to a new AD tenant, simply delete the app registration from the old tenant and create a new application in the new tenant.

If you still need access to the original application, you can consider sharing it across multiple tenants. This allows users in the new directory to access the application without affecting users in the original tenant.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further queries.

    Best Regards.
