I was forced to reinstall VS2022.
Now, when I open a project, there is no Toolbox. When I try to create a new VB Forms project, I get a "Windows Forms Designer error".
How do I fix this?

Is it targeting .NET Framework or .NET? Have you tried to repair your VS2022?
To open Toolbox, you can choose View > Toolbox from the menu bar, or press Ctrl+Alt+X.
If the Windows Forms Designer fails to load, you can try to clean and rebuild the project or solution.
If it persists, please share us detailed error message to investigate it further.

Ctrl+Alt+X brought back the Toolbox on my existing projects, but trying to start a New project still fails (oddly, my only two .Net options are 8.0 & 9.0. I used to have more options.) I did a "Repair" but it didn't help.Screen shots:

Something happened (here) and I'm suddenly "Not authorized" to reply.
First was an error when trying to create a New Project saying:
"The current .Net SDK does not support targeting .Net 8.0."
The second screen shot shows the only two options are .Net 8.0 & 9.0 (I tried both.)
It seems that the spam filter of this site did not like your post, and while it was at it, it also suspended you. I've unsuspended you and restored your posts.
Ctrl+Alt-X restored the Toolbox, but I still can't create a new project.

Hello, are you using the latest version of VS2022? If no, please open the Visual Studio Installer and update it.
Only .Net 8.0 & 9.0. I used to have versions going back to 4.7.1.
It is because you select the Windows Forms App template to create project.
Please check the installed versions of .NET (open a Developer Command Prompt for VS 2022 and run this command):
dotnet --list-sdks
You can manually download and install the .NET SDK 8.0 and try again.

I'm using VS2022. I only create VB Form apps. The cli command returned this:
"Error: the required library hostfxr.dll could not be found in [x:\Program Files\dotnet\host\fxr\8.0.10]"
Yesterday, I tried reinstalling .Net 6.0, 8.0 & 9.0, but it made no difference.
The folder "8.0.10" is empty.
Hello, please open your Visual Studio Installer > Modify > Individual components tab > check that the .NET 8.0 Runtime and .NET 9.0 Runtime components are installed.
Besides, please search "Edit the system environment variables" in Windows Search box > Open it > Environment Variables… > System variables > select Path > Edit… > ensure that your .NET SDK is installed in the path C:\Program Files\dotnet\sdk. You can run dotnet --info command at CMD and check the installed .NET SDK.
Only the ".Net 8.0 Runtime", ".Net 9.0 Runtime" "4.72 targeting pack", and a few other older .Net packages boxes are checked.
I added ".Net 6.0" and it appears to have resolved the issue.
