My VM says my version of windows has reached end of service. I am on 22H2 but there aren't any options to update to the latest.
VM is a Standard D4s V4
Any advice on how to upgrade to the latest? I tried installing KB5031455 and another update related to this ussue, but get an error stating this update is not applicable to your computer.

Andrew 0 Reputation points2025-07-22T14:38:46.7266667+00:00 Version "11", or any major version for that matter, no longer means anything for backwards compatibility or support, when the core Windows Update system refuses to apply updates.
We shouldn't need a separate Installation Assistant process within the exact same major series. I can't think of another operating system that does that. Not macOS, or Linux, or BSD, or Illumos, or MINIX, or anything. There are scientific systems, read-only kiosks, and other infrequently used computers that are not going to frequently apply Windows updates. By breaking compatibility within major version series, you end up pushing people to competing operating systems.
Completing the Installation Assistant did not resolve the issue. Still unable to apply Windows updates.
