Trouble with migrating Authenticator to a new device
I recently migrated to a new phone (Razr). I still have my old phone (Pixel).
I did not use the recovery option when setting up my Razr, I just signed into MS Authenticator and imported all my old passwords. I don't really use Authenticator as 2FA for any service other than Microsoft. I use it more as a password manager and digital wallet.
My main issue is that I cannot use my Razr Authenticator notifications as a 2FA to login to my MS account. If I try to log into my MS account (from any device) and use Authenticator to prove my identity, I get the notifications sent to BOTH my Razr and my Pixel devices. The notifications are always identical, they ask me to verify a number that was presented to me, and the options for each number choice is the same across both devices. For example, if the login screen says to authenticate with number 46, both phones will prompt me with the same options, for example "12, 78, 46".
If I choose the correct number on my Pixel, I my identify is verified and I login without issue. However, if I choose the correct number with my Razr, I get an error message that states, "Your screen lock has changed". Here is an image of the error message.
The error prompt offers to take me to the applicable screen to update my screen lock, and I do exactly what it tells me to and then it tells me that my screen lock was successfully updated. Here is a screenshot of me competing this process.
But I continue to have the same issues. When I try to login to my MS account, I still get this same error which tells me that my screen lock has changed and won't let me authenticate.
I am not sure what to do at this point. I tried going into my MS Account security settings and 2FA settings, but I can't find one that lists my Android Devices so that I can deactivate the Pixel. What to I need to do to allow my new Razr to verify my identity when prompted with this Microsoft verification notification?
