Use Display name and not my true full name. Microsoft Learn - Docs

Question

I don't know why or when but my url changed and as a consequence now my first and last name are visible on Q/A's , etc. I want my display name used publicly. Not my real name but in the profile section there is a warning that "changing the user name will break any links..."

I ignored the warning and did what I wanted to. The results, only at first, were scary but signed out, cleared cache, signed in, boom. All seems good.
