Endless loop between edge signin and authenticator

To get in to corporate outlook, I sign in on my corporate account in Edge and am sent to authenticator with my code number. I enter this in authenticator but instead of sending me to outlook, I get sent back to the sign in page where I am once more asked my password and the entire loop repeats. This is a new problem. I have reinstalled both edge and authenticator but the problem survives. Help! any ideas what to do?
