Solution for OneDrive sync delay behavior?

I'm curious about the OneDrive sync behavior.

An example would be when I have edited a word file, saved, and closed. I would expect that saving would prompt the sync, but it does not. Closing the file, after a long delay, seems to eventually render a sync.

I suppose one explanation would cite communication with the cloud, however, if I right click the OneDrive systray icon, and click "pause syncing", and then immediately return and select "resume syncing", it syncs immediately.

Also, what is the purpose or logic in not having a sync "button"?

I found the "Q&A Assist’s answer" insufficient.

    Hi,

The sync might not be immediate due to several factors, such as network latency or the way OneDrive handles file changes. OneDrive uses a background process to monitor and sync changes, which can sometimes introduce a delay.

It is recommended that you check if you have a firewall or antivirus software enabled. Try disabling and testing if you can improve the sync delay problem.
