Convert text to datetime action doesn't work

Question

In the first tutorial of "Take your first steps with Power Automate for desktop", entitled "Create a simple flow", we are asked to add an action named "Convert datetime to text". It does not work as described in the tutorial.

1 - I entered custom format "MM/dd/yyyy". The sample output - and the actual output when run - displays hyphens, not slashes: "05-19-2020".

2 - When I run the flow, the returned date is wrong. If I enter European formatted date "30/12/2024", it returns American format "12-29-2024".
